Ex-porn star Lana Rhoades recently expressed her frustration over how her former profession remains tied to her name despite having left the adult film industry years ago.

Rhoades, 24, took to Twitter Monday to call out a fan who expected her “3 Girls 1 Kitchen” content to be a sex video, explaining that she was only in the adult film industry for eight months when she was 19. She stopped shooting professional porn in late 2017 and refocused on creating content for her social media platforms.

Rhoades, whose real name is Amara Maple, also wondered if “everything I do for the rest of my life have to be sexual or affiliated with porn?”

Hours later, she clarified her statement and explained to those questioning her tenure in the porn industry that she shot adult films for four months before taking a sixth-month break. The OnlyFans creator then returned to shoot adult videos for another four months.

“That is 8 months of being active & companies have put out unreleased scenes since I quit,” Rhoades wrote.

In another tweet, she maintained that she has nothing against the adult film and nudity industry, adding that she supports sex workers. However, whenever she is asked to give advice to girls who want to follow in her footsteps, Rhoades said, “My answer always is don’t get into porn.”

“It’s not the nudity or the consensual sex. It’s the stigma that will follow you for the rest of your life,” Rhoades said, before detailing the caveats of being a former porn star.

“Your neighbors will tell you that you can’t live next to them bc they have children, your bf’s will tell you that know one else will ever love you bc of your past, and it be held over you everyday of your life [sic],” she shared.

Rhoades went on to admit that she enjoys the life she has now, but she couldn’t wait “till the day that I’m old and unrecognizable so I can be treated like everyone else.”

The social media star has always been open about how her adult film stint affected her life. In the past, Rhoades talked about how her previous profession affected her relationships.
