In Season 6 of HBO’s “Girls,” Lena Dunham’s character, Hannah, shocked everyone when she revealed she was pregnant. While Dunham’s on-screen persona is expecting a child, the actress isn’t really pregnant in real life.

The 30-year-old Dunham was spotted walking the streets of Los Angeles on Thursday and actually looked even more fit than before. But while it appears like her “Girls” character will be keeping the child, Dunham has said reactions to the on-screen pregnancy have been mixed.

“It’s almost an interesting litmus test for where people feel they are in their lives, or what they think is appropriate,” she told Vanity Fair. “It’s interesting to see that keeping a baby is as politicized in many ways, in liberal communities, as aborting a baby. It brings up interesting debates.”

It’s not Dunham’s first time dealing with pregnancy rumors. In 2016, after posting a picture of herself on Instagram wearing a gown, one user asked the actress is she was expecting. Dunham responded with a joke, writing, “Thank you! I’m not expecting but I did enjoy a large box of gluten free crackers prior to taking this image.”

The actress went on to detail how she has been dealing with people asking her if she was pregnant since she was a teen. “It’s funny,” Dunham wrote, “Folks have told I looked pregnant/asked since I was 15. I choose to embrace it as another curve.”

Dunham also found herself in hot water last year when she made an offensive comment about never having an abortion, saying, “I can say that I still haven’t had an abortion, but I wish I had.” Her comment was seen as distasteful and some said trivialized the procedure. She later apologized for her comments.
