Olivia Jade Giannulli is a social media maven, but unsurprisingly, she hasn’t been active since her mother, Lori Loughlin, was indicted for allegedly paying to get the influencer into college. However, she has made an attempt to mute the comments about her mother and college career.

The beauty vlogger, known professionally as Olivia Jade, appears to have turned off comments on her three latest Instagram posts. The social media influencer has 1.3 million followers on the photo-sharing platform.

That doesn’t seem to be quieting the snarky commenters, though. The 19-year-old’s pages are being flooded with new comments. Older Instagram posts are still receiving new comments, as are her Twitter (with 186,000 followers) and YouTube (with 1.9 million subscribers) accounts. Those pages are filled with backlash to the headlines about her parents and other wealthy families paying to get their children into elite colleges.

The rest of her family has also taken action to avoid social media commenters. Olivia Jade’s sister, Isabella Rose Giannulli, took her Instagram private while their mother has deleted her social media accounts.

Loughlin, best known as Aunt Becky on “Full House,” and husband Mossimo Giannulli, a fashion designer, have been charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud. They allegedly paid $500,000 for both Olivia and Isabella to be recruited to USC’s crew team, but the two never participated in the sport.

According to the affidavit, fake profiles were created to support the lie. Olivia Jade was depicted as a coxswain for the L.A. Marina Club team and an “action picture” showed her on an indoor rowing machine.

The guidance counselor at Olivia’s high school apparently raised concerns about “misleading information” in 2017. An email from the counselor reveals that Mossimo visited in person and told the counselor that Olivia was a rower.

“I also shared with [the USC senior assistant director of admission] that you had visited this morning and affirmed for me that [your younger daughter] is truly a coxswain,” an email in the affidavit reads.

What is not clear is if Olivia Jade was aware of her parents’ actions. According to the document, she was copied on an email where Loughlin asked the cooperating witness for help completing Olivia’s other college applications so as not to draw attention from the high school.

“[Our younger daughter] has not submitted all her colleges [sic] apps and is confused on how to do so. I want to make sure she gets those in as I don’t want to call any attention to [her] with our little friend at [her high school]. Can you tell us how to proceed?” Loughlin allegedly wrote. The cooperating witness directed an employee to finish the applications.

The prosecutors have not filed any charges against students yet.
