Before you see Kavan Smith return as Lee in the Season 6 premiere of “When Calls the Heart” on Sunday, catch him in his new Hallmark Channel movie, “Love on the Menu,” with Autumn Reeser on Saturday.

Not only does he star in the film but Smith came up with the story and co-wrote the script with Alex Wright. As for Reeser, fans last saw her on Hallmark this past summer in “Season for Love” with Marc Blucas.

Here’s what kind of romance the two will be cooking up in the Ellie Kanner-directed film:

“Corporate executive Maggie Young (Reeser) meets the man of her dreams in chef Hank Daniels (Smith), when she makes a business deal with him to develop a line of gourmet frozen meals for her company,” according to the synopsis. “However, she is soon forced to choose between the chef and her career when her ruthless boss puts the kibosh on the deal earlier than expected and the chef’s restaurant faces closure, despite Maggie’s hard work to help revive it.”

The cast also includes: Jordyn Ashley Olson (Hannah Daniels), Barbara Niven (Andrea), Richard Ian Cox (Bernie Thompson), Latonya Williams (Melissa Santini), Yvonne Chapman (Emma Wong), Trezzo Mahoro (Leo Costa), David Lennon (Stan), Willie Aames (Martin Thomas), Duncan Fraser (George), Milo Shandel (Dr. Scully), Peter Grasso (Butcher) and Arturo Revuelta (Arturo).

Check out “Love on the Menu” on Saturday on Hallmark Channel at 8 p.m. EST.
