A New York man has been indicted for murdering his girlfriend's 1-year-old son after sexually abusing the child with a toothbrush.

Keishawn Gordon, of Bronx, allegedly murdered his girlfriend's son, Legacy Beauford, as he was irked by the infant's cries while babysitting him. The 24-year-old man was indicted Monday on two counts of second-degree murder, first and second-degree manslaughter and first-degree aggravated sexual abuse, according to a news release from Bronx District Attorney's Office.

Emergency officers found the child unresponsive with multiple bruises at the Webster House apartment, which Gordon shared with his girlfriend, on Sept. 9. The officers performed life-saving procedures and attempted to revive the infant but he was later pronounced dead in a hospital.

A medical examination revealed that the child died of "blunt force trauma injuries to the torso, which led to a lacerated liver and internal bleeding."

Gordon has been accused of violently squeezing the baby, throwing him up in the air and hitting him in the face. Though the man initially told police that he squeezed gently on the toddler's stomach, he later admitted that he punched the crying baby and sexually assaulted him.

"I was frustrated he wouldn't stop crying. He kept throwing up. I mushed him. He was irking me," Gordon said, according to the criminal complaint, Law & Crime reported.

"The defendant, Keishawn Gordon, allegedly carried out monstrous acts against defenseless one-year-old Legacy Beauford. Gordon allegedly inflicted blunt force trauma on the child, leaving him with a lacerated liver, and allegedly sexually abused the infant. We will seek justice for the innocent child, who suffered so much," District Attorney Darcel D Clark said in the news release.

Gordon was initially arrested on charges of murder and manslaughter in September. He was charged with aggravated sexual abuse Monday after investigators found that he sexually abused the infant using a toothbrush, Pix 11 reported.

Reports said Gordon had been arrested 18 times for multiple felonies. He was charged with felony assault in 2018 for allegedly grabbing a woman by the neck and slamming her to the floor. He was charged with robbery in 2019.
