A Florida man who has been accused of mutilating the genitals of his wife’s lover with scissors is set to plead guilty Thursday.

Alex Bonilla, 51, father of five children has been accused of cutting off his wife’s lover’s penis after he reportedly saw him having sex with his 35-year-old wife.

Bonilla has been jailed for the July 2019 attack and has been charged with kidnapping, burglary, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, reported news outlet The Smoking Gun.

Bonilla told the investigators that he had an argument with the victim who happens to be his neighbor after he confronted him at his house on July 14, 2019. “You need to stay away from my wife and leave her alone” he reportedly told the victim. Bonilla, however, claimed that the victim attacked him at that point and he was blacked out after that, according to the pre-sentence report.

The victim who was married with two children detailed the gruesome assault to the investigators. According to the victim, Bonilla showed up at his house with a handgun and bound him in his bedroom when his children were at home.

Bonilla threatened the victim with a metal pipe saying he was “going to break every bone for every lie he is going to say.”

“You are not going to die, but you are going to have something to remember this for your whole life,” saying this, Bonilla took out a pair of scissors and severed the victim’s penis.

“Don’t act this way, this is normal. And if you try to call the police, I will be out in two months and I will come back and finish this,” Bonilla reportedly threatened the victim even while he was leaving the house with the severed organ.

The doctors could not reattach the organ and the victim has trouble urinating and having sex with his wife. The doctors have told him that he “will never have any sensation in his penis again.”

The prosecutors are expecting the judge to sentence Bonilla to 30 years in prison.
