Matthew McConaughey is open to making another movie with Kate Hudson, more than a decade after their last film together.

McConaughey, 52, spoke with Entertainment Tonight during the premiere of his animated movie "Sing 2" at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles Sunday. During the interview, he reflected on his recent reunion with Hudson, a video of which he shared on Instagram last week.

When asked about why he enjoys acting with Hudson, McConaughey said, "She's fun to work with! She's fun, she's rock and roll."

Hudson and McConaughey co-starred in two movies. They first worked together on the romantic comedy "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" in 2003 and reunited in 2008 for the action-comedy "Fool's Gold."

The actor noted that for rom-com movies to work, "the male and the female, or whoever the two leads are, they have to have some kind of chemistry where you go, 'I buy that! I wanna be there!'"

McConaughey said he believes he and Hudson "pulled that off a few times," adding, "And that's why we like working with each other."

He also teased that he would be down to co-star in another project with Hudson, provided that they find "the right script for the right movie."

During their video chat last week, McConaughey introduced Hudson as "one of my all-time favorite co-stars." They discussed the kissing scenes in their movies, sharing that they were much less romantic in real life than they appeared on the screen.

For one scene, the two stars recalled having to kiss with saltwater in their mouths while they were gasping for air to stay afloat in the ocean. They laughed as they remembered trying to make the kiss appear romantic for the audience.

Meanwhile, the actor also spoke about his new film "Sing 2," in which he reprises his role as Buster Moon, an enthusiastic and optimistic koala. His character started a group of singers and musical hopefuls who hope to impress a big-time producer with their dynamic performance.

McConaughey said he was proud of the film because it caters to the whole family. "With a lot of animated films, the kids drag us to them... but if you get one that I want to go to, that my mother and my grandmother also want to go to... then you've got something for the whole family," he told ET. "Which is what we have in this."

He also said that his kids have become more interested in his work since he appeared in the first movie. McConaughey shares three children with his wife, Camila Alves — Levi, 13, Vida, 11, and Livingston, 8.

"Sing 2" also stars Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, Taron Egerton, Bobby Cannavale, Nick Offerman, Tori Kelly and Halsey. It will hit theaters on Dec. 22.
