Meghan Markle has been photographed with her hair in a bun four times since she gave birth to her son, Archie.

The Duchess of Sussex opted to tie her hair instead of letting it down while at the “Lion King” premiere, the Wimbledon, at Archie’s christening, and at the Trooping the Colour.

While speaking with The Sun, celebrity hairstylist James Johnson said that there could be a reason for Markle’s choice of hairstyle other than the fact that it makes her look neater.

“When you’re pregnant, your hair cycle stops so you don’t shed any hair, so when you give birth, all the hair you should have lost in the nine months falls out over a quick period. Meghan may have opted for a scraped back bun to prevent her hair from further damage… It’s also a quick hairstyle and perfect for hot weather,” he said.

The hairstylist added that if the “Suits” alum’s hair was damaged during her pregnancy, keeping it up most of the time will prevent it from getting even more damaged. He also pointed out that Prince Harry’s maybe opting for a much neater hairstyle after she was criticized for always sporting a messy bun.

Troy Alexandros from a Soho-based salon, previously told Express that Markle may always keep her hair tied to hide her curls.

Meanwhile, Markle’s sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, is rarely seen with her hair tied in a bun. The Duchess of Cambridge usually steps out in public with her hair down. According to Express, this may be because Middleton has a three-inch scar at the side of her head due to a childhood operation.

In 2011, a photo of Middleton’s scar was released online, and it is positioned on the left side of her head right above her ear. Shortly after, Kensington Palace released a statement saying that the scar was from a childhood operation, but they didn’t reveal exactly the kind of procedure the mom of three underwent.
