Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were warned against hypocrisy.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are active advocates of the environment, especially when it comes to global warming. However, their lifestyle doesn’t support the cause that they are campaigning for.

“It’s not just hypocrisy about the fact that they travel in private jets, Meghan spent more than a million quid, she hasn’t even been married a year, just on clothes and she is supposed to be an eco-warrior,” Amanda Platell said on ITV’s “Good Morning Britain.”

Platell added that fashion is an “even bigger plastic producer” compared to aviation and shipping put together. The pregnant royal is one of the most popular fashion influencers today. In fact, Lyst considered her the most powerful fashion influencer in 2018 next to “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” stars Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian.

Platell added that there are “double standards all the time” and she’s “really sick of it.” The Australian journalist also criticized the talks about Prince Harry becoming a feminist.

“This thing that Harry is going through gender stereotype shifting and is becoming a feminist,” Platell said. “I’m just sick to death of people wearing this huge thing and saying they are a feminist when people like us have been for decades.”

Last week, the Duke of Sussex made a speech at WE Day in Wembley Stadium encouraging the audience to take action against climate change. However, prior to the event, Markle’s husband took a 45-minute chopper trip that cost $7,854. The soon-to-be dad could have taken the 83-minute train trip for only $45 if he wanted to save and if he was really thinking of the environment.

Helicopter emissions are at least five times higher compared to other modes of transportation and this contradicts his speech. For this reason, Prince Harry was dubbed a “hypocrite.”

Prince Harry and Markle just joined Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Camilla Parker Bowles and the other members of the royal family for the Commonwealth Day service. However, Markle’s hat was criticized as well. It was compared to a nurse’s cap and a cook’s hat. Meanwhile, Camilla committed a fashion faux pas by choosing a dress that was similar to that of the monarch.
