Melania Trump was the keynote speaker on night two of the Republican National Convention, speaking about her husband’s presidency from the White House Rose Garden to a group of people and the rest of the nation. However, her actual speech isn’t the only thing getting attention, as comments made about her on social media by Bette Midler and Kathy Griffin come under fire.

Shortly after the First Lady took to the stage to deliver her address, Midler took to Twitter to criticize her accent, even referring to Trump as an illegal alien.

Naturally, reaction to her comments was swift, and many slammed the actress and singer for her comments, calling her xenophobic and wondering if that was the example of tolerance for others that Democrats claimed Republicans didn’t have.

Others also criticized Midler for the comments because Trump is multilingual, and it has been said she can speak five languages.

Midler isn’t the only one who came under fire for her comments, as Kathy Griffin, who previously landed in hot water for a photo where she was holding a severed head designed to look like the President, also faced criticism for a comment she appeared to make about Melania.

Griffin also took to Twitter during Tiffany Trump’s speech, poking fun at how Donald Trump’s daughter with second wife Marla Maples has rarely been seen with her family over the years.

The speeches by the President’s wife and daughter aren’t the only ones that have received major criticism online since the RNC began on Monday night. That night’s speakers, which included his son, Donald Trump Jr and his girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, have also faced critiques for things they said and the way they said them.

Guilfoyle, in particular, faced criticism for comments about her being a first-generation American, which she was called out on because the comment was false.

She also faced comparisons to the fictional “Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers” character Rita Repulsa as well, with people, including Midler, also stating they couldn’t wait to see comedian Cecily Strong take on the role as Guilfoyle in upcoming seasons of “Saturday Night Live.”

The Republican National Convention continues Wednesday night.
