A YouTuber and influencer was sentenced to 50 years in prison after he was involved in kidnapping a lawyer.

German Abraham Loera Acosta, 25, was one of the six men who kidnapped a 33-year-old lawyer and demanded a 2,000,000 peso ($103,000) ransom in Bitcoins in exchange for her release, BBC News reported.

The victim was kept captive in a house Acosta rented and was rescued by police two days later.

Four others were caught in the same rescue.

The group will also pay a 500,000 peso ($25,730) fine.

Acosta is a former influencer and director of a marketing and design company and described himself as an entrepreneur on his YouTube account.

He shared motivational messages with his followers on how to improve their professional and personal lives and also gave speeches and participated in World Congress of Young Leaders for Peace.
