Former first lady of France Carla Bruni and glam rock singer David Bowie are among Mick Jagger's bedpost notches, according to a new book about the Rolling Stones singer.

Mick: The Wild Life and Mad Genius of Jagger by Christopher Andersen will be released on Tuesday by Simon & Schuster imprint Gallery Books. Andersen's lengthy bibliography includes An Affair to Remember: The Remarkable Love Story of Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy, Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage and Jackie After Jack: Portrait of the Lady.

The Daily Mail released some tidbits from the book that have to do with Jagger's old French flame. (Hint: She was one of many, many women.)

The way Andersen tells it, Bruni, now 44, was dating Eric Clapton, who is 23 years her senior, but Jagger, who also has 20-plus years on her, was just too much for the fresh-faced model to resist.

The two became involved in an on-and-off affair while Jagger was still attached to ex-wife Jerry Hall. He and Bruni were so wrapped up in each other that they reportedly took a vacation together in Thailand right after Hall gave birth to one of their four children, Andersen writes.

Clapton saw it all coming. I knew Carla would appeal to his eye, he said, according to Andersen.

Clapton reportedly pleaded with Jagger to keep his hands off Bruni.

Please, Mick. Not this one. I think I'm in love, he said, according to Andersen, the Daily Mail reported.

Everyone has moved on -- several times, in Jagger's case -- but Bruni's husband, Nicolas Sarkozy, has still taken precautions in recent years, Andersen reports.

The former president of France, who just lost his country's presidential election to Francois Hollande, turned down living in a dream penthouse in Paris' Left Bank neighborhood a few years ago, because it was close to Jagger's own Parisian apartment.

The president fell under the charm of this apartment in Paris, Andersen wrote, the Daily Mail reported. But as they were preparing to buy it, his security detail informed him that Mick Jagger owned a flat in the same building. Sarkozy then backed out of the deal.

Perhaps it was for the best. Bruni and Sarkozy are still married, and she gave birth to their daughter in October 2011.

The New York Daily News also published excerpts from Andersen's book that alleged a liaison with glam-rock singer Bowie. Bowie's then-wife, model Angie Bowie, reportedly discovered the two men naked and sleeping in bed together one day.

She felt more jealous than betrayed, according to Andersen.

I wish it had been me with Mick, she said, according to the NYDN report. I've always thought Mick must be a wild man in bed. He is a very sexy guy. (Apparently, she and Mick tried to hook up, but Angie's giggling fit ruined the moment.)

Bowie and Jagger also both had affairs with Bebe Buell, Liv Tyler's mother. Nobody was monogamous, Buell told Andersen, according to the Daily News. Everybody was sleeping with everybody.

Ah, the good old days.

Mick: The Wild Life and Mad Genius of Jagger will also be available for Nook and Kindle.
