Miley Cyrus opened up about her "scary" experience when the plane she was flying in was struck by a lightning.

The 29-year-old singer recalled the incident during her appearance on the show "Late Night with Seth Meyers" on Monday. "It was really scary," she told host Seth Meyers and revealed that she was with her mother at that time.

"I was in my mom’s lap because I was pretty sure it didn’t matter about the seatbelts at this point," she added. "It was really very strange because it was unexpected weather, and a few things that day—when I woke up that morning I said, ‘Something just kind of felt off and not quite right.'"

Cyrus was flying at that time to attend a music festival, which was later canceled due to bad weather conditions in Paraguay, South America.

"There was just a lot going on," the singer continued. "And everyone’s like—my guys in my band, who are just rock ‘n’ rollers, are like, ‘We got to get to the fans! We got to still play the gig!’ I’m like, ‘OK, no. We’re in the middle of, like, the forest in a broken-down airplane."

Cyrus went on to explain the place they were going to perform had flooded and the stage was sinking. The singer and her band had to skip that location and go on to their next destination to perform in Brazil.

Due to this incident, the singer revealed she and her team had to also "take a few days to recuperate because all of us were a little traumatized."

The plane that Cyrus and her band were flying in was struck by lightning in March, and the singer shared a video of the same on Instagram after the incident. In the video, the lighting can be seen through the plane's window.

"To my fans and everyone worried after hearing about my flight to Asunción," she captioned the video. "Our plane was caught in a major unexpected storm and struck by lighting. My crew, band, friends and family who were all traveling with me are safe after an emergency landing."

"We were unfortunately unable to fly into Paraguay," she added. "I LOVE YOU."

On the work front, Cyrus was last seen in the "Am I Dreaming" music video, which was dropped on Sept. 17, 2021.
