She encountered something traumatic and unexpected during her private music lessons that is affecting her more than she is letting on, but Sophie may be forced to finally confront the situation when it begins to affect her more than she realized on “A Million Little Things.”

As she continued working on her music so she could ace her audition and get in her dream college, Sophie (Lizzy Greene) began working privately with her music teacher, Peter (Andrew Leeds), who used unconventional methods to try and get her to open up and get out of her shell—including stripping down into a bathing suit while she played and he videotaped her. However, at the end of the lesson, Peter then unzipped his pants and began to masturbate in front of her. She then sent him a sexier photo of herself and he ended their lessons for good. Gary (James Roday Rodriguez), Regina (Christina Moses) and Maggie (Allison Miller) all tried to help her, but it seems she will still be dealing with the trauma, according to a synopsis for Season 3, Episode 11, “Redefine.”

“Despite her trauma, Sophie goes through with her music school audition but quickly realized she is struggling to move forward,” the synopsis reads.

Part of her issue though will come from Gary being overprotective since she no longer has her actual father in her life to act in that role. According to a preview clip for the episode, his actions will lead to Maggie scolding him, explaining that he isn’t helping her at all when he keeps trying to fix her problems.

Meanwhile, Rome (Romany Malco) and Regina’s situation with Tyrell (Adam Swain) will also take a turn, when he gets an update on his mother’s detention status with ICE, while Eddie (David Giuntoli) begins to fear he needs to get out of rehab quickly if he wants to fix his relationship with Katherine (Grace Park).

“A Million Little Things” airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
