The Miss America 2019 pageant will take place at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on Sunday, with 51 beautiful women competing for the national title. The 98th annual beauty pageant will begin at 9 p.m. EDT and will go on till 11 p.m. EDT.

TV star Ross Mathews will be hosting the show along with choreographer, host and dancer Carrie Ann Inaba.

“I am honored to be invited to host ‘The 2019 Miss America Competition,’” Inaba said. “I choreographed the Miss America Competition for years and am thrilled to be this year’s host. I’m humbled to have the chance to be part of an evening that will give young women the opportunity to further their education and crown a new Miss America. I have always been a fan of the Miss America Organization that consistently encourages women to be strong, intelligent and radiant women in the world,” she added.

This year’s judge panel will include former boxer, author and television personality Laila Ali; author Bobby Bones; country music singer/songwriter Jessie James Decker; award-winning music producer and television host Randy Jackson; news anchor Soledad O’Brien; entrepreneur and founder of Dry Bar Alli Webb; and singer, songwriter, author and television host Carnie Wilson.

The preliminaries for the competition began Sept. 5 and ended Sept. 7. Contestants from Florida and Wisconsin scored the first preliminary wins. Miss Florida Taylor Tyson won the talent competition for a piano rendition of “Mephisto’s Waltz” by Lizst and Miss Wisconsin Tianna Vanderhei won the onstage interview competition.

Scholarships totaling nearly $506,000 will be awarded, including $50,000 for the new Miss America. The first runner-up will get $25,000 and the second will get $20,000. The third and the fourth will get $15,000 and $10,000 respectively.

The 2018 Miss America was won by Cara Mund, a Brown University graduate, who aspires to be the first woman elected Governor of North Dakota.
