A mother-son duo was arrested last month after allegedly running a brothel out of a South Florida home and recruiting girls as young as 15 years old into the prostitution business.

The incident came to light after cops started probing reports of young girls being offered to clients, WPEC reported Monday.

Police examined surveillance footage and deployed "johns" as a means to gain more insights into the reports. After a thorough probe, detectives learned Glin Yan Zuniga Latin, 28, and his mother, Amparo Latin Barillas, 52, were running a brothel, according to NY Post.

Barillas was apparently looking after the cash collection sitting right at the entrance, the outlet pointed out, citing the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

The dummy "Johns" posed as clients and shelled out $50. They were then handed a card, which they showed to enter a room where they would engage in commercial sexual act after selecting a girl from multiple options provided to them. The time for each sexual encounter was bound to 15 minutes, the outlet added.

A sex worker at the business told authorities she was hired by Barillas to work three days a week for which she would pay them $25 per customer. She then accused the brothel owners of forcing her to handle 8-10 customers a day and only paying her on the basis of the number of condoms used at the end of her shift.

The sex worker also alleged there was a second brothel operating next door which was a separate business, however, authorities suspected the mother-son duo has a link to it. Deputies investigated the matter and found out from bank subpoenas that the accused individuals made regular cash deposits, but they didn't have another source of income.

Latin and Barillas both face charges of making money from prostitution and maintaining a house of prostitution. Barillas is reportedly being held against a $30,000 bond while Latin was released on Jan. 6 after posting his bond.

It wasn't clear if the house had a separate owner or was owned by the accused persons.
