Mr. Robot Season 3
Show creator Sam Esmail has implied the significance of Joey Bada$$'s Leon in “Mr. Robot” Season 3. USA

“Mr. Robot” creator Sam Esmail has teased what fans could expect of Joey Bada$$’s character Leon in Season 3 after they were left surprised by the post-credits scene in the Season 2 finale of the critically-acclaimed USA Network TV series.

“Leon is definitely a character to look out for in in season_3.0,” reads a recent tweet from the show’s Twitter account, attributing it to Esmail, who also served as the director of all episodes of “Mr. Robot” season 2.

Bada$$, who, in addition to being an actor, is also a successful rapper and founder of hip-hop collective Pro Era, talked about what his character will be up to, but he was careful not to go into detail.

“We’ll just have to wait and find out. It’s looking good for Leon, though; really looking good for him,” the rapper told MTV when asked if the post-credits scene in the Season 2 finale means he will be getting a “killer” plotline in “Mr. Robot” Season 3.

In that scene, Leon came across fsociety members Trenton (Sunita Mani) and Mobley (Azhar Khan), who had been in hiding from the FBI because of their involvement in the hacker group. Leon asked the two what time it was, which fans took to be a signal of their impending deaths as ordered by Whiterose (B.D. Wong), leader of rival group Dark Army.

Bada$$, born Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott, also told MTV that while there are secrets about the plot of “Mr. Robot” Season 3 that he knows but can’t tell, even he is not always in the know.

“There are thing that I can’t share with the world, and there are also also things that they keep secret even from me,” the 21-year-old rapper-actor said.

“Mr. Robot” Season 3 is expected to air in 2017, although Esmail said (via Entertainment Weekly) before Season 2 aired that he would prefer to have a longer break before premiering Season 3.
