7-Eleven's birthday is just around the corner, which means that customers can look forward to good deals. For this year, the chain has announced that it will be celebrating longer than usual.

For the whole month of July, customers can avail of one free Slurpee using their 7Rewards loyalty membership. On top of that, those who have already redeemed their free Slurpees have the option to get another cup just for $1 each, up until the last day of the month.

For those who aren't members yet, signing up is pretty simple and easy as they only need to download the mobile app and create a profile, according to Delish.

All grill items such as hot dogs, eggrolls and taquitos will be available for $1 as well for the entire month. For birthday cake donuts, however, their 50-cent promo will only be available on 7-Eleven's actual birthday, which falls on Sunday.

Last year, 7-Eleven canceled National Free Slurpee Day to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19. Marissa Jarratt, 7-Eleven's chief marketing officer, said that the company did not feel comfortable allowing people to gather in one day during the peak of the global pandemic.

"Gathering 9 million of our closest friends in stores on one day just didn’t feel right," said Jarratt.

Instead of giving out free Slurpees only on the store's birthday, 7-Eleven decided to hand out their freebies for the whole month of July to avoid large gatherings.

This year, the company has continued its month-long celebration in honor of its 94th anniversary, KTVU reported. Customers can choose from a variety of Slurpee flavors such as Pineapple Whip, Blueberry Lemonade, Vitamin Water and Zero Sugar Gutsy (Watermelon Peach).

According to a statement released by 7-Eleven in June last year, the company donated $100,000 to Feeding America to provide about 1 million meals to those in need.

"While we're celebrating our birthday month, we are also mindful that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a lasting impact on many families," Jarratt said. "We know how important it is to come together and help the communities we serve in times of trouble."
