“NCIS: Los Angeles” actor Ravil Isyanov has died after a battle with cancer. He was 59.

The Moscow-born actor passed away on Sept. 29 in Los Angeles. People learned from his manager, Frederick Levy, that Isyanov was battling cancer before his death.

Levy told the outlet that he was unsure what kind of cancer Isyanov suffered. However, he shared that the actor had given the producers of the CBS series a heads up about his deteriorating health after receiving his cancer diagnosis. The Russian star was best known for playing the “NCIS” character Anatoli Kirkin.

“He knew that his future looked bleak because of the cancer and he let producers know, and if they wanted to write him off, they might want to do it, soon… I just thought it was really sweet that they were able to give him a proper send off.,” Levy said.

In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, Levy shared that Isyanov gave it his best until the very end when he continued to work while battling cancer.

“Even while battling this awful disease, Ravil remained brave and resilient, bringing his best to the set and working up to the very end. He will be dearly missed,” the actor’s manager said.

Levy also left some kind words for his late talent, saying Isyanov was not only kind, but he was also a “true gentleman, extremely generous and incredibly talented.”

Apart from his work on “NCIS: Los Angeles,” the late actor also appeared on the Netflix show “Glow” and other television series, including “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “The Americans” and “The Last Ship.” He also appeared in a number of films, such as “Defiance” and “Transformers: Dark of the Moon.”

His final projects will be the upcoming biopic on the life of Marilyn Monroe, “Blonde,” and “25 Cents Per Minute,” which is scheduled for release later this year, as per Variety.

Isyanov is survived by his wife Erika and daughter Gulya. He is also survived by his son-in-law Marios and grandchildren Cassandra and Nikita.
