NCIS CBS
Congresswoman Jenna Flemming will be back in an episode of “NCIS” Season 14. CBS

“NCIS” rarely shocks its fans, but the last aired episode of the CBS series certainly astonished everyone. Ellie Bishop’s (Emily Wickersham) boyfriend Qasim Nassir (Rafi Silver) was unexpectedly shot multiple times. It wasn’t long before he needed life support to stay alive. What will Bishop do now?

The upcoming episode of “NCIS,” titled “Off The Grid,” will see Bishop partner up with MI6 Officer Clayton Reeves (Duane Henry) in order to conduct an off-the-books investigation. Although the synopsis of episode 12 does not specify if they are trying to take down Kai Chen (Bruce Locke), it is safe to assume that the NCIS Agent will go after the man responsible for putting her boyfriend in a comatose state.

The upcoming episode is directed by series star Rocky Carroll.

It was Chen that ordered a hit on Qasim. Chen, the main villain of “NCIS” Season 14, is a businessman who manipulates the stock market through acts of terror. He capitalizes on acts of terror to make money. Reeves was part of an operation called Operation Willoughby that was supposed to get evidence to take Chen down. Unfortunately, Chen was always one step ahead of Reeves and his team.

However, “NCIS” won’t be all gloom and doom in the upcoming episodes. Soon, Congresswoman Jenna Flemming (Mary Stuart Masterson) will appear in an episode. Carroll, who plays NCIS Director Leon Vance, told TVLine, “I think it is good that Vance has a bit of a spark there. We’ll see what it happens!” Vance did have a connection with the Congresswoman in a previous Season 14 episode. So, it remains to be seen how their chemistry pans out on the CBS show.

Carroll also said that Chen will continue to be a problem for the team. He said, “He’s going to be the thorn in our side for a while, yeah.”

“NCIS” Season 14 will not air tonight. The next episode airs on Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
