Netflix's blockbuster hit "Squid Game" will get a two-day theatrical release in New York and Los Angeles this month.

The nine-episode dystopian drama will be screened in Netflix-operated Paris Theater in New York on Saturday and in Bay Theater in L.A.'s Palisades Village on Feb. 19, Variety reported.

Episodes 1 to 4 will be screened on Saturday, while episodes 5 to 9 will run on Feb. 19, both at noon. The Korean breakout series screenings will open with video introductions from its stars.

The decision to screen "Squid Game" in theatres came after the series received four nominations at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards. Guild members will receive free admissions, while the general public will have to pay a fee to watch it on the big screen.

"Squid Game" is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor for Lee Jung-Jae, Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Drama Series for Jung Ho-Yeon, Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble and Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.

The hit series is the first non-English-language series to be nominated for SAG Awards.

Netflix recently confirmed that the popular drama will be returning for a second season on the streaming platform.

"The 'Squid Game' universe has just begun," Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said in January during the streaming giant's fourth-quarter earnings call.

Sarandos praised South Korea's Netflix team for the success of "Squid Game" and announced that the streaming platform will launch 25 shows from South Korea this year.

"They didn't try to make the show different so that it would travel, but tried to find all the things about Korean cinema and Korean drama and build them up in a way and new levels of production values," he said. "It's not like we had to go in and teach anyone in Korea how to make great content. It's an incredible market for that. There's always been curiosity around the world, the K Drama market has always had pockets of success all over the place, but the ease of delivery that we've offered has pushed that into the mainstream."

The 2022 SAG Award ceremony will be held at the 35,000-square-foot Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, on Feb. 27.
