A New Jersey Woman who shot her husband dead after running several internet searches on ammunition and gunshot wound to the head has been charged with the man's murder.

Michele Linzalone, 73, called 911 herself after shooting her husband Rocky V. Linzalone, 74. The latter was reportedly rendered disabled after multiple strokes and was under the care of his wife.

Michele's internet searches are traced back to as early as Nov. 18. She visited a website titled "Do you die instantly from a gunshot to the head? Do you feel any pain at all?" and ran searches with the phrases like "If you shoot someone in the head, will they die instantly?" and "Are hollow-point bullets more powerful?" NJ.com reported, citing court documents.

When emergency responders arrived at the residence after the 911 call, they found Rocky dead on the bed, his body covered with a comforter and a pillow pressed against his head, the outlet reported, citing a probable cause affidavit. Michele, while dialing 911, told the emergency services dispatcher that she was "playing with the gun" and it went off and hit her husband.

"She "accidentally" shot her husband in the head while he was sleeping," the affidavit states, according to the publication. "When the officer asked her what she meant by "playing," she stated that she was aiming the firearm at her husband while he was sleeping," the document read, according to NJ.com.

Michele told authorities that she believed the gun was unloaded and it took her 20-30 minutes to call 911 "because she was in shock and she wanted to get dressed and brush her teeth," according to NBC New York.

Michele was charged with first-degree murder and is currently being held in the Monmouth County Jail, pending a formal detention hearing.

In November, a Missouri woman was sentenced to life after she fatally stabbed her husband and staged a break-in scene to acquire insurance payout. Viola Bowman was accused of killing her husband Albert "Rusty" Bowman who was found dead at the couple's residence in Northland home on Nov. 7. Authorities discovered Rusty's body covered in blood on a reclining armchair in his house. The visiting authorities found inconsistencies in Viola's statements and arrested her.
