A man who was high on drugs allegedly broke into singer Niall Horan’s London penthouse through the balcony last year while the One Direction member was not around, a report says.

The man, whose identity was not disclosed, managed to get inside Horan’s luxurious $7 million pad through the French doors on the balcony, an exclusive Daily Mail report revealed Wednesday.

Anonymous sources told the outlet the intruder followed one of the residents of the apartment building, then got access into a neighboring property before jumping onto the singer’s balcony.

Fortunately, one of Horan’s personal assistants spotted the burglar and confronted him in the foyer. The assistant was able to distract the suspect until police arrived on the scene and arrested the man.

“She managed to keep the intruder talking until security were called,” the outlet quoted an unnamed source as saying. “The police arrived soon afterwards but the man was not arrested and was released.”

The suspect was not arrested after police determined that he was on drugs and incoherent and that nothing was stolen during the break-in, Page Six has learned.

However, the man tried to pull the same stunt the next day, and that was the time when he got arrested. He came back to the apartment complex but was spotted by security before he could even break into Horan’s apartment again.

“He returned to the apartment building the following day but he’d been caught on CCTV and his picture had been circulated around staff working in the apartment building,” the source said.

“The security noticed him on the cameras and picked him up pretty promptly and he was arrested for a second time,” the source added.

The incident actually happened in July 2020. Nevertheless, insiders said the 29-year-old celebrity, who resides part-time in Los Angeles and was not around during the incident, was left “shocked and shaken” after learning about what had happened.

“The suspect was charged by postal requisition on 7 August, 2020 for burglary with intent to steal,” a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said, adding that the man is expected to face trial at Kingston Crown Court on July 5.

The report comes amid heightened speculations that One Direction could come back and release new music in honor of their 10-year anniversary after taking an indefinite hiatus in 2015. The rumors started after members Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson said they are down for a reunion, according to J-14 magazine.
