A woman was arrested and charged with murder and weapon offenses on Wednesday night after killing her roommate with a tape dispenser and a shower rod.

Mary Carbone, 56, was accused of killing Frank Stochel, 55, in their shared residence in 6th Avenue in Manchester's Pine Lake Park section on Feb. 24 after authorities responded to reports of an unresponsive man there.

New Jersey reported that the case was ruled as a homicide however, the exact cause of death and the motive were not revealed.

“This cooperative investigation further revealed that several household items were used by Ms. Carbone in the commission of this murder,” the prosecutor’s office statement said. "Specially, a tape dispenser and a shower rod were recovered from the scene."

The statement went on to say that Stochel's injuries coincided with the implementation of both items.

Carbone was identified to be from Toms River but lived in the Manchester house with the victim.

The suspect is currently held at the Ocean County Jail.
