The U.S. District Court on Friday (May 1) sentenced a New Concord, Ohio, man to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty for trading child pornography through online media and also paying for underwear worn by minors.

According to court documents, the man, identified as 32-year-old John D. Lagle, pleaded guilty in October 2019 after he was caught with around 60 to 70 pairs of children’s panties and more than 100 images of child porn during a search at his home in August 2019.

Lagle was arrested after the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio initiated an undercover investigation where an officer posing as the mother of two minor girls began communicating with him in January 2019 over Kik, an online chatting platform.

“Lagle and the undercover officer talked for several months on Kik and Wicker,” a press release by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Southern District of Ohio read.

“Throughout that communication, Lagle offered to pay the undercover officer for panties worn by the two fictitious daughters and for sexual activity with the two daughters,” the statement read.

On numerous occasions, Lagle also shared images of child porn to the undercover officer that he had downloaded from the web as well as pictures of minors in public areas that he had clicked himself.

Based on the investigation and the evidence acquired, a search warrant was issued to Lagle’s home where the officers seized panties belonging to children and various images of disturbing child porn. The officers also seized two pairs of panties that Lagle had purchased from the undercover officer.

Following the search, he was charged and taken into custody.

Chief U.S. District Court Judge Algenon L. Marbley sentenced Lagle to spend 120 months in prison followed by 10 years of supervised release.
