The Originals
Will Freya (Riley Voelkel, pictured here) finally have a relationship on “The Originals” in Season 4, episode 7? The CW

What is the worst type of enemy to be up against? A ghost. Last week’s episode of CW’s “The Originals” saw Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) put a face and a name to all the servants of the mysterious villain called The Hollow. The blue-colored orb needs to feed in order to maintain its presence on the Earthly plane.

Worse still, The Hollow is desperate to absorb Klaus and Marcel’s (Charles Michael Davis) powers. Now the servants of the malevolent force are determined to transform it into a physical form. All that is needed is a quartet of bones. Unfortunately, Sofya (Taylor Cole) got her hands on one set of bones that Klaus had. She stole it during a party he threw to find out The Hollow’s followers.

Fortunately, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) discovered that her parents had safely locked up one set of bones required for The Hollow to take a physical shape.

Well, get ready for things to get worse. According to the synopsis of Season 4, episode 7 on TVGuide, The Hollow’s latest servant is on the loose, forcing Freya (Riley Voelkel) to place a protective spell on the compound. Therefore, Klaus, Hayley and their daughter Hope (Summer Fontana) will remain inside till the rest of the Mikaelson, with the help of Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood), can get a handle on the situation.

Speaking of Freya, the witch is having a budding romance with werewolf Keelin (Christina Moses). In fact, a new batch of photos of the upcoming episode, which is titled “High Water and a Devil’s Daughter,” shows the two lesbians in a loving embrace. Does this mean Freya will finally have a romance on “The Originals”?

Meanwhile, Elijah will take matters into his own hands when Vincent is reluctant to perform a dangerous ritual that can strengthen their defense against The Hollow. The promo of Season 4, episode 7 teases that the ritual is so dangerous that Vincent asks Elijah if he remembers what it’s like to be a human being. “Not really,” he replies.

Eventually, Freya enacts a risky plan that brings her face-to-face with their latest threat and an unexpected twist leaves her life hanging in the balance.

This episode is directed by Davis. The handsome actor makes his directorial debut in “High Water and a Devil’s Daughter.”

“The Originals” executive producer Michael Narducci told TVLine that the Season 4 finale, which airs on June 23, will present an all hands on deck scenario with everyone trying to not only survivr but stop The Hollow once and for all. However, Narducci teased, “The victory does come with a pretty severe cost. There’s a price to be paid, and we’re setting the audience up for that.” He also told TVGuide, “The Mikaelson family will be changed forever.”
