Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) and Marcel Gerard (Charles Michael Davis) are in the clutches of the main villain in “The Originals” Season 4. Last week, that mysterious blue orb called The Hollow managed to link itself to these two men using a ritual. It needs the sacrifice of children in order to grow in power. Not surprisingly, Klaus’ daughter Hope (Summer Fontana) is on that child sacrifice list.

Meanwhile, Detective Will Kinney (Jason Dohring) died after the Mikaelsons and Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) discovered that he was the one kidnapping innocent children in New Orleans so that they could be sacrificed.

The synopsis on TVGuide reveals that both Klaus and Marcel will experience the symptoms of a malevolent haunting after being marked by The Hollow’s magic. The promo of the upcoming episode, titled “I Hear You Knocking,” shows Klaus being haunted by none other than Mikael (Sebastian Roché).

Mikael haunts Klaus by encouraging him to kill Marcel. “Today you will die at the hands of Marcel,” an image of his father bellows, “kill your enemy first!” It isn’t long before Klaus and Marcel realize that The Hollow is playing tricks on them. Its pitting the two against each other.

Marcel also experiences similar visions that goad him to kill his former mentor. These visions culminate in the two supernatural creatures participating in a sort of duel until one of them dies. “Neither of us is to leave unless one of us dies,” Mikael’s son tells the leader of New Orleans.

While the dynamic duo are busy fighting to their death, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and Elijah will (Daniel Gillies) seek Mary (Debra Mooney) after she uncovers a mysterious link between this dark magic and her former wolf pack.

Elsewhere, an exhausted Freya (Riley Voelkel) will risk her life to cure Klaus’ infection. This will result in Keelin (Christina Moses) being forced to decide whether she should help Freya as a doctor or flee from the Original family forever.

“The Originals” airs Fridays at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
