“Ozark” Season 3 is all set to return later this year with yet another crime, drama adventure. There will be a total of 10 episodes, and the plot this time around will drag Marty (Jason Bateman) further down a dark path.

After the events in the previous season, things will not be good for Marty. The character was forced to commit murder, and in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Chris Mundy confirmed that the character is “on a slippery slope.”

Marty will not fully embrace his dark side in the next season. Mundy pointed out that the murder was actually self-defence. While the character will be dealing with moral questions and tackle other issues, this is the time for his wife Wendy (Laura Linney) to rise.

Wensy was already seen taking charge of the family when Marty had a breakdown. Mundy explained that Season 2 is the point where the character starts her “ascension.” That will continue in “Ozark” Season 3.

Another big character arc to watch on the show this year is Ruth (Julia Garner). The character will start the next season wanting to be a part of the Byrde family. However, with time as she understands the enterprise better, she will start thinking whether being a part of this family is something that she really wants.

Although the TV series is about a “boring” subject of money laundering, it has managed to keep the fans on the edge of the seats so far. In a previous interview with The Wrap, Bateman said that explosions and the violence of the show is really about humanity being pushed to the limit of what one is capable of justifying.

Each year the show gives the fans something unexpected. In an interview with Variety, Mundy said that the changes on the show make the audience want to watch more to see what happens next.

The producers are yet to announce an exact release date for “Ozark” Season 3. The show is expected to premiere in September.
