  • Halsey said she does not want people "to speculate and pass judgement about fertility and conception"
  • The singer said that her pregnancy was "100% planned"
  • She is expecting her first child with boyfriend Alev Aydin

Halsey has been on cloud nine since her pregnancy announcement in January. But it seems not all are showering her with love as she has now made it clear that she wants people to stop speculating about the process of her pregnancy.

The 26-year-old singer took to her Instagram Stories Monday to set the record straight. "Why is it ok to speculate and pass judgement about fertility and conception?" Halsey began her post.

Halsey stressed that her first child with her boyfriend of several months, Alev Aydin, was "100% planned."

"My pregnancy was 100% planned, and I tried very hard for this bb. But I would be just as happy even if it were another way," she wrote.

It was in January when she announced that she was expecting her first child with the screenwriter and producer. The "Without Me" singer shared a series of photos that showed her flaunting her baby bump in a colorful bikini top and jeans.

Halsey has been sharing her motherhood journey with fans on social media. Last month, she took to Instagram to express her thoughts on pregnancy and post several photos. In one of them, she can be seen soaking up some sun in a floral bikini.

"February is the shortest month, but the days seem like they are taking very long. Butttttt also going so fast?! I've been thinking lots about my body. it's strange to watch yourself change so quickly. I thought pregnancy would give me very strong, binary feelings about 'womanhood' but truly it has levelled my perception of gender entirely," she captioned the photos.

Halsey also shared that her sensitivity to her body has "made me hyper aware of my humanness."

"Doing a remarkable thing. And it's grand," she continued. "I hope the feeling lasts. I cook a lot, sleep even more, and read lotssss of books. I miss my family. And you guys too! bye for now."

Many of her fans and fellow celebrities lent their support by leaving kind words in the comments section. Among those was singer Katy Perry, who became a mother last year. She wrote, "You're about to perform a real miracle, get that rest and just be! I love you!"

On the work front, Halsey will make her television acting debut with HBO Max's "The Players Table." The series is based on Jessica Goodman’s novel "They Wish They Were Us" and will also star "Euphoria" actress Sydney Sweeney, reported Deadline.

Annabelle Attanasio will write, direct and executive produce the project.

“This show is about what happens when young women aren’t taken seriously. It is about wanting to belong to something so badly you could die, and then realizing you actually want to break it into a million pieces,” said Attanasio.
