Prince Charles is not loyal and loved by the people, according to a royal biographer.

On Wednesday, the Prince of Wales celebrated another milestone with his 70th birthday. On his special day, Tom Bower spoke with Sky News and criticized the future king's loyalty. He also expressed his doubts that Prince Charles would ever change his ways at his age.

"He was very conflicted and very contrary," Bower said (via Express). "He was a person who demanded huge loyalty but could be utterly disloyal to people who had shown him loyalty. He was a man who didn’t very often understand his position in the world."

"He is not loved - he is begrudgingly respected," Bower continued. "I think that he will find it very very hard to impose sort of the endearing legacy of his mother. I also doubt that you can change at the age of 70, from being a controversialist to being a conformist."

Bower has made a number of claims about Prince Charles this year. A few days ago, he said that Prince Charles is to blame for his detractors. "That reflects on Charles for causing those people to have a grievance," Bower said. "You don't find people speaking with grievances against the queen."

He also pointed out the difference between the current monarch and the heir. For him, the two are not the same because Prince Charles is not a "unifier" like Queen Elizabeth II.

"Charles does the opposite. He divides the nation between those who like him and dislike him, he divides his own court, he creates hostility when he be creating harmony and that's his trait," he explained.

The author also described the first-in-line to the throne as selfish and ungrateful. In his book "Rebel Prince: The Power, Passion and Defiance of Prince Charles," he said that the prince travels with his entire bedroom and toilet seat. However, former aids who closely worked with the Prince of Wales denied Bower's claim.

In related news, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles may have a hard time as the future king and queen. Based on YouGov's recent rating poll, the prince is only at the seventh spot and the duchess in the 10th place for the most liked royals. Prince Harry is the nation's favorite royal.

In addition, 20 percent of the Britons have a negative opinion about Prince Charles. On the other hand, 36 percent are against Camilla.
