Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s controversial wedding guest, Chloe Madeley, is finally opening up about the backlash she was involved in on May 19.

At that time, Madeley made headlines due to her choice of clothing. The 31-year-old was criticized for showing off her shoulders in a dusty pink dress because her attire went against the royal etiquette rules.

During a recent interview with Express, Madeley said that it wasn’t her intention to show off too much skin at the royal wedding. However, she forgot to bring her jacket and was left with not much choice. Madeley also said that she just laughed off the backlash and saw to it that she still enjoyed the event with her fiancé James Haskell.

“It used to really affect me when people were negative, but now that I’ve found what I want to do, working in health and fitness and being a fully qualified personal trainer, I think now that I have a real purpose in life and I genuinely am incredibly passionate, my anxiety has dislocated hugely. Those kinds of comments really do, and it sounds like I’m lying but I’m not, they really do roll off my back now and I don’t take it seriously,” she said.

The daughter of Richard and Judy Kay added, “I don’t consider it to be a big deal. I understand that I have a purpose and I’m good at my job and I’m successful in my own right. I understand that people on social media have absolutely no idea who I am or what I think or what I do or what I feel and how hard I work. They’re right to write whatever they want I don’t take it personally at all anymore.”

When asked what it was like attending Prince Harry and Markle’s wedding at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, Madeley said that she and Haskell had a blast. They were both very happy to have been able to attend.

Madeley and Haskell will tie the knot in 2020.
