Princess Diana reportedly attempted to deprive Prince Charles of his right to the throne.

In the new documentary “Scandals at the Palace,” Lady Colin Campbell revealed that the late Princess of Wales had an “agenda” for Prince William to become king while she worked herself as regent.

“The thing that people objected to, not only in the Royal family but in establishment circles, was how she had tried to deprive Charles of his rights to the throne,” Lady Campbell said.

“Her agenda was if the Queen dies and Charles is out of the line of succession, William becomes King and she can work herself into the position of being Regent,” she continued.

Lady Campbell described the whole thing as “madness.” Her comments were made in relation to Princess Diana’s explosive interview where she said that “being Prince of Wales produces more freedom now and being King would be a little bit more suffocating.”

The People’s Princess added that she knew the character and thought that the top job would bring “enormous limitations” to Prince Charles. She added that she wasn’t sure if the Prince of Wales could adapt to it.

Lady Campbell revealed earlier that Princess Diana asked her to work on her biography “Diana In Private” before she worked with Andrew Morton for “Diana: Her True Story.” However, she didn’t pursue the job as they couldn’t agree on one thing.

According to Lady Campbell, Princess Diana was advised by her friends to play the victim and she didn’t agree with her posture of victimhood. She sensed that it would do no good to the royal family, so she walked away.

She added that the Princess of Wales wanted her to tell lies. She didn’t criticize Morton for taking the job but said that he chose to believe all that Princess Diana said and accepted it undiluted, but she wasn’t prepared to do the same.

Meanwhile, according to Morton, the People’s Princess chose him because he was independent and sympathetic to her cause. He said that Princess Diana was “absolutely miserable” and felt the need to speak out because she was “like a prisoner of the Palace.”
