Queen Elizabeth isn’t happy about some of the negative attention the royal family has received from the press. However, the monarch is reportedly having an especially hard time with how the public has been treating her “favorite son,” Prince Andrew.

On Monday, U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman claimed the Duke Of York “provided zero cooperation” to authorities investigating Jeffrey Epstein. Following the convicted sex offender’s death, officials are trying to identify Epstein’s conspirators.

However, during a news conference outside of Epstein’s New York City mansion, Berman made it clear that there have been issues getting information from the royal.

“The Southern District of New York and the FBI have contacted Prince Andrew’s attorneys and requested to interview Prince Andrew, and to date, Prince Andrew has provided zero cooperation,” he said.

The comment resulted in a public backlash against Prince Andrew, which reportedly upset Queen Elizabeth more than Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s exit. “The Queen has been hurt by all the criticism of Andrew far more than the fuss about Harry and Meghan breaking away from the family,” a royal insider told The Sun.

“The reason, quite simply, is that Andrew has always been her favorite son, not least because she spent more time with him than any of her other three children.”

The 93-year-old is reportedly concerned about how Berman’s comments could affect Prince Andrew emotionally. “As for the noise surrounding Andrew’s friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, she feels embarrassed on his behalf. No mother wants to hear stories about a son’s sexual relationships with very young women,” the source explained.

“She feels particularly bad that Andrew has given up so much of the work, especially his charities and military roles because he was carrying out those duties on her behalf - and doing them very well. She will always protect Andrew, and they often talk on the phone, or when he is at Buckingham Palace, where he still has a flat.”

Queen Elizabeth has reportedly continued to remain supportive of Prince Andrew since he was linked to Epstein’s scandal.
