Meghan Markle has been known for wanting to do things her own way despite there being lots of royal protocol and rules that came with her marriage to Prince Harry. However, one particular thing she reportedly plans to do with her infant son Archie is allegedly rubbing Queen Elizabeth the wrong way.

According to a report in the Sun (via Express UK), Markle, who has attempted to adopt an animal-free diet in the past, intends to pass that same philosophy down to her son. However, royal commentator Neil Sean claims that Queen Elizabeth is “not very happy” about the plan.

“Basically the story here is that Meghan apparently wants to raise baby Archie as a vegan. Right, nothing wrong with that,” he said during an appearance on Today extra. “But the Queen as you know, as you can imagine, is very much a person of tradition, likes traditional meals. Allegedly, according to this piece, she is not very happy. There’s no confirmation at all on this.”

The Sun report claimed that Markle’s continued decision to try and push the boundaries is creating tension within the Royal Family, especially with the Queen.

“Meghan keeps pushing the boundaries with the Royals and it’s not being well-received, least of all by Her Majesty,” a source told the publication. “Bringing up the baby as a vegan simply won’t be tolerated by the monarch.”

In addition, the plan to try and raise Archie as a Vegan is also creating some tension with her husband, as the source claims the prince doesn’t want to do anything that will upset his grandmother, even as he has reportedly adopted healthier lifestyle habits and choices for himself.

“It’s created tense discussions between Meghan and Harry, who doesn’t want to upset his grandmother,” the source claimed.
