The news of Channing Tatum and Jessie J breaking up hit the internet on Dec. 19. Us Weekly reported that a source told them that the two “broke up about a month ago” but “they are still really close and still good friends.”

This left people wondering why the two ended their relationship. According to People, it was because the “timing was off.” A source told the outlet that they did try to make it work, but that the relationship ultimately had to end.

“He is super busy with his career, as a dad,” the source said. “He has a world awaiting him and is trying to manage how busy he is which isn’t easy.”

“He has a lot on his plate right now and wants to be the best dad possible which means he needs to be around when he isn’t traveling for his own work,” the source added.

The insider went on to say that the two did make “the most” of their relationship but the ending “came at a good time.”

Even though they are over, J is still commenting on his Instagram pictures. On Dec. 2, Tatum posted a photo revealing big news about “Magic Mike Live” with the caption: “It’s happening…we’re comin’ for you Australia. Melbourne, see you in May 2020!”

“I wanted it to cut to you doing Pony by the Sydney Opera House so bad Chan…,” the singer commented on his post.

The two first started dating in October 2018. According to Cosmopolitan, a fan on Twitter exposed their relationship when he caught them on a date mini-golfing together.

“Who knew a mini golf job could be so crazy. Tonight I had to watch one of my [expletive] ex professors make out with his fiancé, then my co-worker cut his hand open and had to go to the hospital, and finally Jessie j and Channing Tatum came in to play a round,” the now-deleted tweet said.

Tatum's relationship with Jessie J came after announcing his split from wife Jenna Dewan in April 2018. The two share a daughter together, 6-year-old Everly.
