Republicans React On Social Media To Joe Biden's Speech, Decision For Afghanistan Pullout
President Joe Biden on Monday defended his decision to withdraw from Afghanistan amid a Taliban takeover.
Many Republicans quickly seized on the moment to criticize Biden's decision. Following the speech, Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming took to Twitter to suggest that Biden had forgotten the attacks by Al Qaeda on Sept. 11.
“President Biden seems to have forgotten the Taliban harbored al Qaeda before & after AQ killed 3000 Americans on 9/11. Biden’s surrender strengthens our terrorist enemies, hands them a massive new caliphate, abandons our allies & ensures a longer, costlier war for years to come,” Cheney posted on Twitter.
Other Republicans, including some who served in the Trump administration, also slammed Biden.
Biden's confession that he sees the unfolding chaos in Afghanistan as validating our retreat is outrageous. This is not an Afghan civil war. We ceded control to a terrorist threat that now endangers innocent US citizens, as before 9/11. This is a huge, potentially fatal mistake.

“The buck stops with me…” but absolutely took no responsibility for the disaster we are watching.

Every president confronts challenges. This president confronts a challenge in Afghanistan. He has utterly failed to protect the American people in this challenge. https://t.co/OG95IvWLDX
