“Marvel’s Runaways” Season 2 has plenty of romance, and one of the burgeoning relationships is between Gregg Sulkin’s Chase Stein and Ariela Barer’s Gert Yorkes. The British actor told International Business Times that the couple will have some challenges in the new episodes.

“Well, I think it’s going to be an interesting journey for them. I think being in a relationship as a teenager is tough and hard enough. And I think being in a relationship on the run is a whole different ball game,” Sulkin told IBT at New York Comic Con.

A lot has changed since the first episode of “Runaways.” No longer are Chase and Gert separated by cliques — or anything at all. After confronting their parents, the teens went on the run. They’re trying to lay low while their mothers and fathers have framed them for murder. That means Chase and Gert are living together when their relationship has barely started.

“My dad always said you never know someone until you live with them, and I think Chase and Gert find that out this season, that living with each other is — the first season, falling in love is great. Living with somebody and being on the run? There could be some complications,” he teased.

While they might face challenges, the actor assured fans that their feelings for each other are very real. “But at the end of the day, I think Chase completely loves Gert and Gert completely loves Chase and so there’s a special bond there,” Sulkin added. “They’re going to try and fight this together and try and get justice together.”

“Marvel’s Runaways” Season 2 premieres Friday on Hulu.
