“Shadowhunters” Season 2 is well underway, and there are a lot of things that fans should look forward to in the upcoming installment.

The series’ new showrunner, Todd Slavkin, has teased a few details about the upcoming installment via Twitter. Answering a fan’s query, Slavkin said Season 2 of the show based on Cassandra Clare’s “The Mortal Instruments” will have a mix of drama, comedy and action.

“Bust out the Kleenex… But some of your tears will be tears of happiness and laughter,” the showrunner said.

In addition, Slavkin also teased that one of the characters fans have been hoping would appear in the series will make his debut in Season 2. The showrunner teased that Sebastian will make an appearance next season, although he did not give any more details about the character's storyline.

While fans would have to wait a little longer before the actor who will play Sebastian is named, they can start looking forward to what the new actors who joined the show will be up to. Nick Sagar has been cast to play the role of Victor Aldertree, according to Deadline. The character is a Clave Representative tasked to investigate Jace’s (Dominic Sherwood) move to join the story’s big villain Valentine (Alan van Sprang). Fans would recall that Jace decided to join Valentine before the first season ended when he learned that the villain is his biological father.

Alisha Wainwright has also joined the cast. She will play the role of Maia, a bartender and werewolf who will join Luke’s (Isaiah Mustafa) pack. Viewers of the show would recall that Luke became the leader of his pack, whose headquarters is in the Jade Wolf.

The upcoming season will also see the return of the fans’ favorite stars Katherine McNamara (Clary), Alberto Rosende (Simon), Matthew Daddario (Alec), Harry Shum Jr. (Magnus) and Emeraude Toubia (Isabelle), among many others.

“Shadowhunters” Season 2 is slated for a 2017 premiere.
