The salary of Shane McMahon, American professional wrestler and the vice-chairman of Seven Stars Cloud Group, Inc., is one of the lowest among the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) wrestling superstars and executives.

The wrestler, listed as only having an on-screen talent contract, reportedly took home $820,369 from WWE in 2020, according to Ringside News.

The figure was much lower when compared to other wrestling superstars, such as John Cena, who has a base salary of $8.5 million; Roman Reigns, who has a base salary of $5 million; and Randy Orton, who has a base salary of $4.5 million.

Here are the other lowest-paid wrestling superstars with their corresponding base salaries as per a report by Mirror: Sheamus ($1million), Jeff Hardy ($1million), Bray Wyatt ($1million), Jinder Mahal ($900,000), Kane ($900,000) and Samoa Joe ($800,000).

According to an SEC filing, Shane’s father, Vince McMahon, Chairman and CEO of WWE, earned a $1.4 million base salary for his role as WWE chairman and CEO.

Shane’s sister, Stephanie, Chief Brand Officer of WWE, took home $730,000 in base salary. His brother-in-law, Triple H, took home the same amount as executive vice president of global talent strategy and development.

Shane initially started his career as a wrestling referee. To date, he is a minority owner and producer in the WWE.

Shane reportedly owns around 2.5 million equity shares of WWE common stock. At various times, those shares have been worth as little as $40 million and as much as $225 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. His net worth stands at a total of $100 million.

In 2018, Shane reportedly earned $955,175 in terms of performer pay only, according to Sportskeeda.

Just this week, Shane was “quietly let go” by WWE after rubbing producers and wrestlers the wrong way at the Royal Rumble.

He was reportedly supposed to appear at WWE’s Elimination Chamber event in Saudi Arabia, but those plans have been scrapped, said Ringside News in a separate report.
