An employee at a sheriff’s office in Arizona was arrested Wednesday for allegedly trying to lure an 11-year-old girl into sex, police said.

On March 2, El Mirage Police responded to a report about the suspect driving past the young victim several times and pulling by twice. Authorities identified the suspect as Miguel Ramirez Diaz who they said asked the young girl if she wanted to have sex with him. Diaz was an employee at Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

Police arrested him Wednesday. Diaz was placed in the Maricopa County Jail on one count of luring a minor, ABC 15 reported.

In 2018, a New York Police Department (NYPD) officer was accused of having sexual encounters with a 15-year-old girl and also having a threesome with the teen. His adult girlfriend, who happened to be the sister of the minor, was said to have been a part of the threesome. In addition to that, the officer was accused of recording videos of his numerous sexual encounters with the victim. The investigative detectives discovered the videos made by the accused officer, Raul Olmeda, 40, in his home computer leading to his arrest. Olmeda was facing felony charges involving sex with a minor and possession of a sexual performance of a child.
