'Slumdog Millionaire' Star Freida Pinto Welcomes First Child: 'You Are One Lucky Boy'

"Slumdog Millionaire" star Freida Pinto and her husband Cory Tran are now parents of a healthy baby boy named Rumi-Ray.

The 37-year-old actress, who secretly tied the knot with her photographer husband in the middle of the COVID-19 lockdown last year, took to her Instagram page Sunday to share the news.

Pinto penned a birthday tribute to her husband and at the same time announced the birth of their first child. The post was accompanied by photos of the newborn with his parents. However, the baby's wasn't revealed in the images. He was not facing the camera in the first one, while his face was covered with an angel emoji in the other.

"Happy Birthday Dada Cory!" Pinto wrote. "I celebrate you my husband, friend and partner in life. To see you become not just a Dad but Super-Dad makes me so emotional and fills me with joy. It also gives this sleep deprived Mama a break and you have no idea how much I appreciate that!"

The actress also said she is "grateful" to have Tran in her life.

She added, "I am so grateful and in love with how we do life together. Love you madly. Rumi-Ray you are one lucky boy!"

Tran shared the same images on his Instagram page and called his son "the best birthday gift you could ever ask for."

"Best birthday gift you could ever ask for," he noted. "Thank you for our sweet boy. I’m in awe of you more and more every day. Watching you give birth to Rumi-Ray was truly a miracle, you are such a warrior."

Celebrities such as Lily Collins, Sophia Bush, Jamie Chung, Natasha Bedingfield and Sam Claflin shared their excitement over the good news.

Meanwhile, Sam Claflin commented, "Happy birthday @coryt! This might just be my favourite thing ever."

Pinto revealed in an Instagram post in October that she got married to Tran a year ago.

"Yes, yes, it's true," she confessed. "One year ago, I married this gorgeous man of my dreams. No, we were not keeping it a secret or anything. We were simply just enjoying life and happily shared the news with anyone who asked."

The said post came with a carousel of photos taken during their low-key wedding.
