"Saturday Night Live" opened up its latest episode testing the patience of everyday people by informing them about current events.

The episode was hosted by actor Brendan Gleeson and featured musical guest Willow. Along with trying to push people to the edge, "SNL" also touched on the attention surrounding the Try Guys group.

Check out some of the notable sketches from the second episode of "Saturday Night Live" Season 48.

Cold Open

The NBC comedy sketch show kicked off the night with the fictional game show "So You Think You Won't Snap," which pushed contestants to their limits by having them read real headlines in an attempt to make them snap.

"Have you noticed that everyone around you is angry and crazy? People are flipping out at Target, stabbing is back, and the only thing that can cheer us up is watching a sexy show about Jeffrey Dahmer," castmember Bowen Yang, who played host Morgan Freegirl, says in the sketch.

"We are living on the edge, and tonight I'm here to push us over as we play 'So You Think You Won't Snap!'" he added.

Among the contestants was Chloe Fineman, who played a mother of four that didn't have time to worry about anything else.

However, when she heard that actor Chris Pratt voiced the main character in the "Super Mario Bros" movie, she attacked a flight attendant.

Other contestants included Kenan Thompson, who became enraged after hearing Elon Musk's name, and Devon Walker, who burned his face with an iron after seeing Kanye West's latest controversial photo.

Brendan Gleeson's Monologue

Gleeson's "The Banshees of Inisherin" co-star Colin Farrell crashed the 67-year-old actor's "SNL" debut. The film follows two friends who have a falling out after one of them becomes a little too needy. Both Gleeson and Farrell were born in Ireland.

In his monologue, Gleeson noted that "the story's not too far from the truth" when it comes to Farrell. Following the comment, Farrell walked on stage. "I was just passing. I was on my way from the mustache shop," he said.

Farrell revealed he had something to ask his co-star, which made Gleeson suspect it was going to be a "needy question."

"So, who's your most favorite co-star you've ever worked with?" Farrell asked.

When Gleeson revealed it was Paddington Bear, Farrell's questioning became more specific. "Who's your favorite human costar who's Irish and he's about 46, and his name begins with a C?" Farrell asked.

"Cillian Murphy," Gleeson replied.

Both men agreed that Murphy was a good choice and then wrapped up the monologue by singing a song.

Try Guys

Later in the show, "SNL" took a jab at the drama involving the comedy group Try Guys. Gleeson portrayed a CNN White House correspondent, who was reporting on Biden's support of Ukraine before receiving breaking news about the Try Guys' response to the Ned Fulmer situation.

Fulmer was fired from the group after he admitted to having an affair with a producer of the group's video series.

"It's obviously an evolving story, but CNN can confirm that the Try Guys have released an official YouTube video clapping back at ex-Try Guy Ned Fulmer, the wife guy-Try Guy," Gleeson says.

"He disrespected the brand by making out with one of the Food Babies at the Harry Styles concert."

Castmembers Yang, Mikey Day, and Andrew Dismukes played the three remaining members of the Try Guys -- Eugene Lee Yang, Zach Kornfeld, and Keith Habersberger. They appeared on CNN to talk about the split.

While Gleeson appeared to be a fan of the group, his colleague, played by Ego Nwodim, was confused about how the story was relevant and questioned whether the affair was non-consensual.

"Worse, he committed the heinous act of having a consensual kiss and not telling us, his friends," Day said.

Yang added, "We hope he is somewhere on his back, with a bullet in his brain and belly."

Rapper Megan Thee Stallion will pull double duty as host and musical guest on the next episode of "Saturday Night Live."
