Police in Florida have begun a manhunt for a man accused of killing his wife and 10-year-old daughter with a machete.

Emergency operators received a call late Monday night about a domestic dispute at a Miami Gardens home between Noel Chambers, 57, and his wife Lorrice Harris over their impending divorce. Harris had been out celebrating her 49th birthday when she returned home and was attacked by a machete-armed Chambers.

Police raided the home not long after and found a bloody scene, which included the dead bodies of Harris, which was discovered on the back porch, and the couple’s daughter, 10-year-old Shayla Chambers, in her bed.

The couple’s 29-year-old daughter, Shanalee Chambers, was able to escape but had to be rushed to the hospital with multiple stab wounds.

Miami Gardens Police Chief Delma Noel-Pratt told media that the scene was "terrible" and "heart-wrenching."

Not long after the bodies were discovered, SWAT raided an abandoned building four blocks away from the home after a reported sighting but Chambers wasn’t found.

Police have searched South Florida and hope to find Chambers before he tries fleeing to his native Jamaica, offering a $3,000 reward for information that leads to his arrest.

"We need to get him off the streets," Noel-Pratt said. "If he could do this to his wife and his own 10-year-old daughter, he will do it to someone else. We are putting a lot of resources into finding this guy. Help us get him off the streets."
