Scottish and Southern Energy has confirmed today that it will keep its energy prices the same until the beginning of 2007.

In the past three years all other major energy suppliers have increased their prices to a greater extent than SSE. The SSE will almost certainly have to raise energy costs to meet with the increase in wholesale energy prices in the last three years.

In a statement SSE said, "unfortunately there is no doubt that the next price movement in electricity and gas will have to be upwards, but as far as SSE is concerned it will not be before 2007.'
