If there was any doubt left that there will be a time jump in “Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker,” Daisy Ridley cleared it up in a recent interview. The actress spoke about the big action sequence between her character Rey and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and explained how she has become a better fighter.

Ridley spoke about her upcoming film during Josh Horowitz’s "Happy Sad Confused" podcast. The actress said that she, and consequently her character Rey, has become “such a better fighter.” One reason for her improved skills is that the production team made the lightsaber prop much lighter this time around, making it easier to wield it. The actress said that before it felt like they were swinging a heavy sword, but that changed in this film.

One particular scene in which Ridley made use of her newfound fighting skill was the fight between Rey and Kylo Ren. The actress emphasized that this is a “great fight.”

Rey and Kylo Ren have shared a strange bond with each other. Even Ridley described her character’s relationship with the villain in
“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” as a “strange thing.”

There is a lot of speculation about the relationship between Kylo Ren and Rey, with many fans suggesting that they may be brother and sister. No matter how the relationship evolves, for the moment the two of them are enemies, fighting against each other.

Fans got a glimpse of the action sequence between Rey and Kylo Ren in the Vanity Fair coverage of the film. The two characters appear to have grown stronger in the Force, as they battle each other using their lightsabers.

“Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker” is the last film in the sequel trilogy. In a previous interview with USA Today, Ridley said that the plot feels like “kids going on an adventure.”
