It's been nearly one month since Steve Harvey's infamous flub at the Miss Universe Pageant, but it's still haunting the daytime TV host. During the pageant, Harvey, 59, crowned Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez instead of the actual winner, Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach. The "Family Feud" host sat down with Gutierrez, 22, after the fact, admitting that he has some serious regrets about his error.

According to Us Weekly, the pair sat down with "Today" show host Natalie Morales after filming a two-part special titled "Miss Universe: The Truth" for "The Steve Harvey Show." During the discussion Harvey told Morales he "blew it" at a crucial moment in the pageant. He went on to say that he knew it hurt Gutierrez more than anyone and was apologetic for his mistake. Harvey called the blunder his "greatest regret" and revealed that he received death threats and ceaseless insults on social media following the mix-up.

"I blew it in a big moment. And the person that was hurt the most was [Gutierrez]," he said. "That was the greatest regret for me."

Prior to their meeting, Gutierrez was adamant that the mistake was intentional. As was previously reported, she told TMZ she believed it was written into the plans for the evening as a way to boost ratings and publicly embarrass her. She told the publication that if the goal was to embarrass her, it was a success. She added that the mix-up was shameful for her and for her country. Gutierrez did not mention who she believed had been behind the incident.

Although Harvey calls the occasion his biggest regret, he has done his best to move on from it. On Dec. 25, just days after the incident occurred, the Miss Universe host took to Twitter to make a joke about his mistake. He posted a photo of himself standing in front of his pool with the caption, "Merry Easter, y'all!"

Harvey's mix-up occurred during a live showing of the 2015 Miss Universe pageant. After all aspects of the competition had been completed, Harvey mistakenly announced Miss Colombia the winner of the pageant. He was quickly informed of the mistake and apologized before correcting himself, passing the crown to Miss Philippines.
