New photos from the Toronto set of the forthcoming film "Suicide Squad" have been leaked via Comicbook Movie. They show Margot Robbie as Dr. Harleen Francis Quinzel, aka Harley Quinn. She can be seen doing a motorcycle stunt on a highway and appears to be dressed in a blue denim shirt and a pair of charcoal-colored jeans. She seems to be sporting a pair of black-rimmed spectacles and is wearing her hair loose.

In the comics, Dr. Quinzel falls in love with the Joker after she interviews him at the Blackgate Prison. She becomes obsessed with him, and her friends begin to worry that the Joker might be manipulating her. The character of Quinzel briefly appeared in “Batman: Arkham Originals” before she transformed into supervillain Harley Quinn. As Quinn she made her first appearance in “Batman: The Animated Series.” She is Joker’s girlfriend and is a rival to Batman. She is immune to most of poisons and is a trained psychiatrist.

Robbie is reportedly excited to play Quinn and might use a thick Brooklyn accent in the film, as she hinted to Superhero Hype. Said she, “None of those things have been set in stone at this point, but according to the comics, she’s from New York and I think Brooklyn, so there may be a slight … I couldn’t imagine it would be as strong as the ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ accent.”

David Ayer is directing the film based on the comic book of same name by John Ostrander. Richard Suckle, Charles Roven and Colin Wilson have produced it and Roman Vasyanov has been hired to do the cinematography. The cast also includes Will Smith, Jared Leto, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne and Viola Davis.

The story line of the film concerns a set of supervillains who form a squad in order to execute a dangerous mission for the U.S. government. They agree to undertake the task in exchange for less prison time. Smith’s character, Deadshot, will lead the squad consisting of Quinn, the Joker, Rick Flag, Captain Boomrang and Enchantress.

“Suicide Squad” will open in the theaters on Aug.5, 2016.
