Snapper (Ian Gomez) books an exclusive interview with the Girl of Steel (Melissa Benoist) in a new sneak peek from tonight’s episode of “Supergirl.”

The one-minute clip from Season 2, episode 15 opens with Kara asking Snapper to publish an article of hers which cites Supergirl as its only source. Snapper, however, is adamant about not running the story, telling Kara that her story has to have at least two independent sources in order to be published.

“You said a good reporter should always cultivate her source,” Kara tells Snapper.

“Sources. Plural,” he replies. “I’m not gonna take your word for it. We have too much fake news out there. I can’t risk it.”

Since Kara’s story is part of her plan to stop Cadmus, she offers her editor-in-chief a chance to interview Supergirl — a rare opportunity that will allow Snapper to determine whether the Girl of Steel is a credible source or not. Without a second thought, Snapper takes the offer and tells Kara that it should be an exclusive.

During a recent press event, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said (via Entertainment Weekly) that tonight’s episode, “in addition to being a big Alex (Chyler Leigh)-Jeremiah (Dean Cain) story, also has a healthy dose of Kara as a reporter.”

Kreisberg added that viewers are going to see more of Kara as a reporter in Season 2, episode 18, titled “Ace Reporter.” “That’s actually been very important to us, especially in the times we now find ourselves living in; we’re one of the few shows on television that actually has a journalist as a lead character,” Kreisberg explained. “In … episode 18, we really get a chance to talk about the importance of journalism, and the importance of journalism ethics, and how important [it is to have] the objective truth be out there now.”

Tonight’s episode, titled “Exodus,” airs at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
