As Donald Trump was making history by becoming the third ever president to be impeached in U.S. history, Barack Obama was playing a round of golf in Hawaii on Wednesday.

According to TMZ, the former president was spotted at the Mid-Pacific Country Club wearing a pink polo shirt and white khaki shorts.

The outlet reported that he was smiling and taking pictures with fans.

While this may have been a relaxing day for Obama, he has still been committed to politics and social change since officially leaving office in January 2017.

On Dec. 12, Obama was awarded the John K. Kennedy Human Rights Ripple of Hope Award in Manhattan, PBS reported. The award is giving to leaders “who have demonstrated a commitment to social change.”

“I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but I’ve been on this hope kick for a while now. Even ran a couple of campaigns on it. Thank you for officially validating my hope credentials,” Obama joked while receiving the award. “…If we summon our best selves, we can inspire others to do the same. It’s easy to succumb to cynicism, the notion that hope is a fool’s game.”

“When our leaders are content on making up whatever facts they want, a lot of people have begun to doubt the notion of common ground,” he added. “Bobby Kennedy’s life reminds us to reject such cynicism.”

People were impressed with his speech, tweeting responses that praised the former president.

“I close my eyes to absorb his presence, his words of wisdom and of his natural flow of the comprehensive English language. Miss this man so! He represented America with dignity, class and honor. God bless him,” someone said.

“I love him and miss having a president capable of empathy so much,” someone else said.

Other recipients to receive this award included New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, Discovery president and CEO David Zaslav and Humana CEO Bruce Broussard.
