Lousiana police arrested the suspect of a crash which killed one person.

Jermaine Applewhite, 23, was arrested on Tuesday for crashing his car into a parked SUV outside of a home on Saturday morning.

According to The Eagle, around 2:30 AM, the SUV crashed into the bedroom of a sleeping 69-year-old Jaime Antonio Pineda who was pronounced dead at the scene by police.

“When we came out here the car was here, but the person was gone," homeowner and witness Irma Myers told WAFB-TV. "They had jumped out and ran.”

Applewhite was arrested in his home and was charged with negligent homicide, criminal damage to property and other charges.
